Seeing The Unseen
An Awakening
The most excited people I know are those who have seen what they couldn’t see. We can read about God and his ways and hear about Him from different preachers. We can have great knowledge of Him and not really see and know Him the way He really is. I hear those many voices saying, He is this way or He is that way. So, how do we really know who and how He really is?
When we were very young, before we could walk good, we would bump into things, get up and continue until we bumped into the next object. When we learned to walk properly, then we could run. When we were born again we were like a little baby, smiling, happy, overjoyed and laughing. When we started to walk, all of a sudden, we began to bump into things we didn’t see. When we experienced God at new birth, we saw just enough of Him to make us astonished and joyful. We began a new walk with a lot of objects ahead. Some objects we are meant to go around and some we are meant to go through. We learn the difference by the hardest. We must learn the difference in order to know God the way He really is. By the way, Jesus’s disciples were called, people of the way.
I was born again in Virginia at a friends house on the river. I had been drinking for many years and it was about to kill me. I couldn’t quit, no matter how hard I tried. I had been trying to go through and around that object so long, I was weary of trying. When God forgave me, the object was removed, the desire to drink alcohol left me. At that exact moment, I saw a small part of who and what God really is. All my life I had heard, If I would stop drinking God would be pleased with me and except me. They were trying to tell me something about God that was not so. They had never seen God that way, so they gave me bad advice. The law, that’s what almost killed me. I was trying to do something in my own strength, that object was reserved for God only. I saw, the moment God removed that object ,more than my advisers had seen all their years.
We all want instant deliverance. Well, you know that going around or through an object presents an object in itself. Which do we do? When God instantly delivers or heals us, we went around the object and are astonished. That object lesson taught us, the fear of the Lord, His greatness and power. At that moment we saw a part of God, one part. Than there is the other way, going through the object. This requires the part where Jesus took on humanity and we took on the Holy Ghost in our human body’s. The Holy Ghosts job is to teach us to know and see God the way He really is, to lead us to the truth of this matter. An awakening of each aspect of Him.
I had a health issue about four years ago. I prayed for deliverance and instant healing and others did the same. I went to the elders of the church and was anointed with oil for healing. In my eyes nothing happened, an operation was coming nearer and nearer. One day my pastor called me and said God had spoken to him about me and did I want to hear it? Of course I said yes. This is his exact words. “Take notes because you have never been through anything like this before and I will speak to you through it”. At that moment I knew that I would not be going aground the object, but through it. My job was to praise, worship God and take notes. It took many years to recover and get deliverance and healing. I took notes of what God did and said to me and have them to read over and over again. I saw God a new in every new awaking, of so many. I still don’t see God in every aspect of His way, but I see Him many times more of the way He really is, than I did before.
In the example of instant deliverance, I learned the fear of the Lord. In the second, I learned wisdom. The two are vital to the Christian walk. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. To have one without the other, is to not see and know God the way He really is.
Jesus said “In this world you will have tribulation, but I have overcome the world”. In our walk with him some say we should have no problems. That is to not see what He just said, nor see and know Him the way He really is. Going around the object is to see and fear God. To go through it with Him, is to gain wisdom.
Isaiah 48: 10-11 says
See I have refined you though not as silver.
I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this.
How can I let myself be defamed?
I will not yield my glory to another.
When we speak of God to others, we must tell them of the way He really is and not the way we think or have heard He is. In this world we learn God, no one else, can do it for us.
We live close to the Appalachian Trail in Tennessee, there are many rocks and objects in the way on it. Some we can go through and some we must go around. The destination is still ahead. It doesn’t stop here.
